12-Day Northern Circuit Safari

Set out on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. This 12-day itinerary takes you through iconic national parks, from the breathtaking Serengeti to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, offering an unforgettable safari experience. Encounter diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and rich culture while exploring East Africa’s hidden gems.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

    Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.

  • Day 2: Arusha National Park

    Spend the day exploring Arusha National Park, where you can enjoy a game drive and a walking safari at the base of Mount Meru. The park offers great wildlife viewing, including giraffes, buffalo, and various bird species. Return to Arusha for the night.

  • Day 3: Tarangire National Park

    After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its large elephant herds and the iconic baobab trees, enjoy a full-day game drive. Tarangire’s vast landscapes offer excellent wildlife viewing, including lions, zebras, and migratory birds. Overnight in Tarangire.

  • Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

    Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park known for its flamingos and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive around the lake, where you’ll see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and baboons. Overnight in Karatu.

  • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

    This morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Spend the day exploring the crater floor, home to a rich variety of wildlife, including rhinos, lions, and elephants. Return to your lodge in the evening for an overnight stay.

  • Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Central)

    Head to Serengeti National Park, traveling via the historic Olduvai Gorge. Explore the park’s central region, where you’ll find abundant wildlife and sweeping savannahs. Spend the afternoon on a game drive, and enjoy the evening at a lodge in the Serengeti.

  • Day 7: Serengeti National Park (Southern)

    Explore the southern part of Serengeti, famous for its wildebeest migration and calving season from January to March. Spend the day on a game drive, with the chance to witness the dramatic movements of the migration and its predators.

  • Day 8: Serengeti National Park (Western)

    Travel to the western region of the Serengeti, known for its quieter landscapes and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a full day of game drives, looking for lions, cheetahs, and leopards. This area is also famous for birdwatching, with over 500 species.

  • Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

    Drive back to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After checking into your lodge, you can relax and take in the spectacular views of the crater from the rim.

  • Day 10: Cultural Experience & Relaxation

    Enjoy a cultural experience with the Maasai community near Ngorongoro. You’ll learn about their traditional way of life, including dances and ceremonies. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the tranquility of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

  • Day 11: Lake Natron

    Travel to Lake Natron, a remote, scenic lake known for its stunning red waters and alkaline landscape. This area is great for birdwatching, especially for flamingos. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and take in the breathtaking views of the nearby Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano.

  • Day 12: Departure

    On your final day, return to Arusha for your flight back home, carrying unforgettable memories of your safari in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit.
