Hiking time: 3–4 hours Distance: 7 km (4.3 miles) Habitat: Rainforest Start your adventure at Londorossi Gate with a drive to the trailhead. Trek through dense rainforest, spotting wildlife along the way, to reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.
Hiking time: 5–6 hours Distance: 8 km (5 miles) Habitat: Moorland Leave the forest behind and enter the moorland zone. Cross ridges and enjoy panoramic views as you approach Shira 1 Camp.
Hiking time: 4–5 hours Distance: 7 km (4.3 miles) Habitat: Moorland Continue across the Shira Plateau, a vast high-altitude desert with dramatic views of Kibo Peak. Arrive at Shira 2 Camp for an acclimatization night.
